Trabzonspor made a clear attacking addition in the closing days of the summer window. The club has officially signed Guinea-Bissau striker Franculino Gluda Djú from FC Midtjylland. According to the KAP filing, the transfer fee is 17 million euros.

Franculino is 22, 1.86m, left-footed. He came through Benfica’s academy and scored 58 goals in 117 official matches in Denmark. The deal is 4+1 years. The detail is in the KAP text and in the sections below.

Who is Franculino? From Benfica to Midtjylland

He was born in Bissau on 28 June 2004. A left-footed centre-forward, he stands out for his back-to-goal play in the box, first touch and finishing. He grew up in Portugal, moving from Olivais e Moscavide into Benfica’s academy. In 2021-22 he won the UEFA Youth League with Benfica’s youth side.

In summer 2023 he joined Midtjylland on a free. He scored on his Superliga debut against Vejle; four days later he scored a hat-trick against Omonia in the Conference League qualifiers. He won the Danish title in 2023-24 and that season was among Europe’s highest-scoring young players.

Transfer fee and KAP disclosure

According to the filing on Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Midtjylland will be paid a 17 million euro release fee. The sum is spread over eight instalments in five years; conditional bonuses are listed separately. If Franculino moves on, 15 percent of the remaining fee — after amounts paid or due to Midtjylland are deducted — stays with the Danish club.

There is a 4+1-year contract. KAP lists a guaranteed wage of 2.125 million euros per season. If the club takes the option, the 2030-31 guarantee is 2,406,250 euros. The agency fee is stated as 4.7 percent of the player’s gross wage.

Numbers at Midtjylland

His Midtjylland record, matches through 27 August 2026:

Official matches and goals

  • 117 official matches, 58 goals, 15 European goals (32 European matches)
  • Danish league: 40 goals in 80 matches
  • 2025-26: 22 goals in 34 matches (17 in 21 league games)
  • Start of 2026-27: 3 goals in 10 matches

In winter 2025 he was heading for the league’s golden boot when he was injured, had surgery and returned in the spring. His left foot and composure in the box are a profile that slots straight into the attack Hüseyin Çimşir is preparing.

Guinea-Bissau national team

He has played for Guinea-Bissau’s senior side since 2023. Fourteen caps, one goal; his first international goal came against Sierra Leone. He also holds French nationality through his father.

At BordoMaviNet we cannot wait to see the new striker at Papara Park. Welcome, Franculino.
