Following the BMN blood donation event held in Taksim on October 30, 2011, the Turkish Red Crescent presented BordoMaviNet with a certificate of appreciation.
On Sunday, October 30, 2011, in Taksim, Istanbul, members of BordoMaviNet responded to the Turkish Red Crescent's call with their blood donations. Following the event, the Red Crescent presented BMN with a certificate of appreciation. Sharing the certificate on the forum, Badaloğlu (Ahmet) both thanked the donors again and announced that blood donations would henceforth be organized regularly within BMN.
Among those who donated blood in Taksim that day were Melek Bakırtaş, Cafer Kılıçsoy, M. Özgün Yüksek, Selim Yazıcı, Mesut Bıyıklıoğlu, Gökhan Topsakal, Berat Akçay, Anıl Kadir Şahiner, M. Gökhan Döner, Murat Yeşilyurt, Süleyman Yeşilyurt, Asiye Çakıroğlu, Ayşe Aygün, Metin Külünk, Behçet Sarıcaoğlu, Alper Tolga Çalık, Ömer Kibar, and Gamze Bal. The donor cards prepared by the Turkish Red Crescent were collected at Badaloğlu; some cards belonging to members whose names were not on the list remained at the blood center. Turgay collected some of these; it was stated that the remaining cards would be requested from the Turkish Red Crescent at a later meeting.
Here, lives spoke, not numbers. Blood was given, not money; in return, a certificate of appreciation and, more importantly, approval from people's consciences was received. As Faik Yılmaz said, the certificate was a symbol; the real document was the hand reaching out to those in need.
